Can't change user picture in My Account

For some reason, I'm unable to change "My Picture" in the "My Account" preference panel. The row of pictures is all faded out/grayed out, as is the "choose another" button. This is 10.2.6 on a Quicksilver G4.

Any ideas?

Is the little padlock in the lower left hand corner of the window "locked" or "unlocked?" If it's locked, click it, type your password, and you should be able to change the picture.
