Can't Download - Help!!

Ok, I did all that and it worked. But is there any way to fix the settings on my main account? I'd really rather not have to reset ALL my prefs
 
Will take some time to do it this way, but you could start replacing preference files in the new user account from the one that's a problem, maybe 5 at a time. Restart each time, and try downloading. Do this until you can't download. Then it would be one of the last group you replaced.

Kind of like the extension trouble shooting of the past.
 
Ok, here's another weird one for you: I made a new account and copied all the prefs, but it still didn't stop it from downloading. But THEN I went back to the old profile - and I could download again! :rolleyes: :confused: :eek: Your guess is as good as mine....

Now here is where you start the computer class "I must trace my steps backward to see which Preferences where removed from the old account before it started working again".:p

Seriously, it sounds like a classic case of Preferences gone wild.
 
But that's the thing - I didn't actually _remove_ anything, just copied. I would take several prefs at a time, log out, and see if it stopped downloading, but it never did. Couldn't disable it.
