can't install suitcaseX1 on Tiger?

I'm trying to install suitcaseX1 and it keeps crashing as soon as it starts - I can't figure out whats going wrong. I installed it onto 10.3 no worries but it started acting up ( when I dumped 2000+ more fonts in it :D ) so I deleted it and decided to try again. Now I get nothing - I think it's sulking.

Used spotlight to find and delete anything that might be left of the program. Attempted hiding my fonts before install. Ran font doctor first to get everything organized. The disk is not scratched or damaged. Tried copying the installer to the disk and going from there and from the disk as well - always the same result.

Choose language
Hit Accept
Choose installation type (tried all three)
Then as soon as it starts it stops

Any ideas?

ps - since I upgraded my computer speakers started picking up radio signals, how weird is that?

I am not quite sure anyone would need 2000 fonts but I can say that 10.2 of Suitcase X1 is working fine on my Powerbook 17. How many different sets are you tryin g to create? Hold old are the fonts? Age may not be a huge issue but it will be more and more of an issue with fonts, I do know that generic and cheapo fonts can wreak all sorts of havoc even with the help of Font Doctor. Changing from 10.3 to tiger is almost as big a leap as it was to go from classic.

Wouldn't I need to have suitcase installed in order to upgrade it?

Unfortunately I know that suitcase is working for other people - that scares me more.

Some archive porn.. I like fonts. They're not cheapo ones either.

Sorry to come off smart ass, I'm gettin frustrated here. I'm going to try and download that upgrade. I'm networked up to my old iMack (400mhz OS9)
- reckon theres any chance of installing it from there?

Thanks guys,
K

OK I think I was correct in being alarmed - I just tried to install Microsoft Office and the installer crashed - so WHY CAN'T I INSTALL ANYTHING??

IS this a brand new install of Tiger? You seem fairly au fait but might I suggest a repairing of permissions? It an old favourite... Office 2004 installed and updated OK here on G5 iMac.
A little more info would be good?

::angel:: Ahem!

While previous systems proudly flew the Jolly Roger from the crow's nest, yes these are genuine pieces of software thankyou-very-much.
(The ones I've told you about anyway.)

As it was only last week I recieved my little mac Mini (hendrix) there wasn't more than a couple gig on it, so fugg it I'm clean installing as we speak. Stay tuned.

Maybe it's a New Zealand thing but I'll tell you what's frustrating me, they're still shipping them with Panther and an upgrade to Tiger CD instead of Tiger proper - 2 intalls if i want to start from scratch.

thanks for your help, wish me luck

So I've clean installed everything, downloaded the updates - got suitcase working sweet --- but there's little things going wrong, I swear there's a fucking poltergeist in the computer.

Icons formerely dragged to the dock mysteriously disappearing?
Certain system preferences just changing themselves?
Menus aren't opening in column format anymore?
None of the web pages I was on yesterday "remember" me anymore?

Hardware check said everything's OK
All I can think of is a mate who told me that dodgy memory is hard to diagnose..

Any ideas?
