Can't install Tiger on my G4

I've been trying to install Tiger on my Sawtooth G4.

768 megs RAM, OWC 1.5 upgrade card and a ATI pro Mac 9000 graphics card.

My firmware is up to date, as well as video drivers. When I try to install, it goes through the verify dvd routine (I think that what is was called) then it goes to the next step of checking my drive for installation and never gets far. I let it go and went to work, came home and it said installation failed, please try again. but it's not helping.

Perhaps I should repair permissions or something?

If you can, wipe the drive clean with Disk Utility (on the Install CD) first, then try the install.

I had the same problem with the Tiger DVD. Called Apple and they sent me a new DVD and it installed fine.
