Can't install Tiger

I have a 800MHz Titanium.

Installing Tiger, it starts verifying my internal drive and then just thrashes, making no progress. Checked the disk using Disk Utility that came on the Panther install disks - it found no problem. Tried to start up with 3.0.2 Disk Warrior - it too gets stuck.

I don't want to wipe the disk and spend untold hours re-installing my software. Carbon Copy Cloner does not work - tells me my external Firewire drive is "busy". Disk Utility can't make an image - tells me that my image is too large.

I'm frustrated - anyone able to make my day?

Tried to start up with 3.0.2 Disk Warrior - it too gets stuck.

This happens with my 1.25Ghz TiBook (15") too - I dont know what the problem is. WIth my G4 tower (blueish) DW works fine

Anyonw know why this is happening

I heard somewhere that some Tiger DVDs were literally dirty. So try using the standard DVD clean method to see if that works.
