Can't send photos using iphoto via Microsoft Entourage on Mac

Hi, I am unable to send a photo from iphoto using Entourage. I am running Mac OS 10.6.6. (on iMac). The error message I get says:

[Microsoft Entourage got an error: Can't get content of window " ".]

(As an side: I switched to Entourage because I was unable to send a photo to a PC (non mac) using the program Mail: they were receiving it squashed and out of proportion, so I thought if I use an alternative mail program they might be able to get normal photos.)

Any help on either Entourage or Mail regarding this issue would be most appreciated.

What you are describing is not a Mail problem. How a graphic is displayed in your recipient's email program is controlled by your recipient's email program. You have no control over that. Entourage cannot change this fact.

That said, your recipient's email program is not an image viewer. If the recipient is concerned, then explain that when the photograph will look just fine when it is saved and then opened with an image viewer.

to MisterMe: I'm sorry but I don't really understand your reply. I have two different problems and I know they are not linked (I just mentioned the Mail problem as an aside). Regarding the recipients email program, they are able to receive photos with no problems (they look normal not squashed) from another Mac user who also uses 'Mail'.

Mail has a an Edit/Attachments>Send Windows Friendly Attachments menu item that does exactly what it says. As for your recipient's being able to receive photographs in Mail without issue, this fact supports my previous post.

Unless you use HTML mail, then you have very little control over the format of email messages that your recipient receives. If you use HTML mail, then you have some control. However, the control is not certain. A lot of novice users waste an enormous amount of time trying to format non-HTML mail. It is a waste of time.

My suggestion to you is to type you messages much as you would type a friendly letter. Add photographs just as you would add any other attachment. Then let it go. Your recipients should not use their email programs as image viewers. That is not their purpose. Other applications are far superior image viewers.
