Can't update iTunes

Convert

Tech
I am using iTunes 6.0.1, on 10.4.3.

I downloaded iTunes 6.0.2, and while installing an error appeared displaying "Please quit iTunes before beginning this update."

So I quit iTunes and clicked OK. The window would keep re-opening, until I logged out.

I decided to try again, but this time not running iTunes, and it still prompted me to close iTunes.

What do I do?

Look in your Login Items (under your account in "Accounts" in System Preferences). If you notice an item named "iTunesHelper" or something like that, then it's the culprit. Use Activity Viewer to kill this process and the update should go smoothly.

Or, alternately, just log in holding down the Shift key, and your login items won't load and the update should proceed smoothly.
