I believe the first build of "camino" that's out today doesn't have the mozilla 1.3 trunk merged yet. This is planned for the 0.7 milestone, which should come in the next couple of days.
Reports are that Camino will experience about a 15-20% increase in rendering speed once the new 1.3 engine is in place.
Camino is still way ahead of Safari in the rendering engine department. I believe Safari (or the KHTML engine in particular) will catch up eventually, but I believe the Gecko engine has at least 6-9 months before this happpens.
In the interim, I stilll believe Camino to be the best browser available on any platform. It's small, fast, standards compliant, and has great features.
