Choppy iTunes Video

Hi All,

I'm having problems with iTunes video playback under 10.4.11. I'm on a 733Mhz Digital Audio G4, which I realize is somewhat below the iTunes specs, but I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get rid of the choppiness in video playback. My machine has a PATA drive but it is hooked to a SATA card. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

The choppiness is for being below the specs.
What you can do is (other than getting newer hardware to run the software and OS on) would be to make sure you have maxxed out RAM in your system, and have enough clean space (min 15 %). And clean the system e.g. with OnyX.

Thanks much for the info. The system still does everything I need it to, except that some things are a bit choppy (video, menus, etc). But would adding another 500MB of RAM make that much difference in a system with 1GB already?

To solve the choppy video playback, no.

The choppiness isn't due to lack of RAM -- it's due to an inadequate processor and/or video card (more processor than video card, but both).
