Compatible Font Types

Hi,

Which font types are compatible with OS X i.e. True type fonts, post script fonts.

Does OS X still require printer & screen fonts?

Thanks.

Both are.

If you use a font manager like FontBook or SuitCase, you should be able to use PostScript Types I and II, TrueType and OpenType. I think those three just about cover all the fonts you should encounter on the web or in print.

Hey People,

Thanks for your replies!

Bet you aint got any ideas about this....

We recieve greek word docs via email to my G5 running OS X 10.3.7.
I then copy the greek text from text boxes in the word doc & copy to a new doc.

I now go to a win XP system, open the doc in word & save as a .rtf file.

I then put the file back on my Mac, open the doc (which diaplys the text in greek ok)in word & copy the whole content.

The problem is when i paste the text to Freehand MX it appears all over the place or as "U544, U549, U654" etc.......

Please help. The font is an adobe post script type 1 outline font. I'm using Suitcase 10 but i've also tried Font Book. I've also tried a text converter such as cyclone but no good???? The really frustrating thing is that the above method works on Mac OS91!
