Connected to the internet but VERY slow, only at home

Hey guys. I have a macbook with the intel processor, got it about a year ago. Love it and have had no problems until lately at my home network my internet is like 56k slow. My room mate has my exact computer and has NO problems. When I am anywhere but home the internet is plenty fast. Have comcast cable and a linksys wireless. Help!
 
Is there any improvement after restarting your cable modem? Be sure to restart that Linksys router, too!

Is there any improvement if you connect through ethernet direct from your cable modem to your MacBook? (bypassing the Linksys completely). Be sure to restart the cable modem if you try this.
 
Check whether the used interface (Ethernet, Airport) has any entries for DNS. Remove them if there. (They're automatically configured using DHCP in most instances.)
