connecting Mac Osx 10.5.8 2009

Hi,

I have Mac book which i bought in 2009, the silver one.
Recently iI've purchased samsung TV LED 6000 series. when I am connecting my macbook to TV there is no sound. I bought external wire to connect headphone to TV still no sound!
I was wondering is something wrong with mac 2009???

Did you change the System Preferences->Sound pane setting to the port you plugged the audio cable to you mac?
