R RPS Registered May 20, 2003 #2 The firewire port has a firewire thingy on one side, and a dock thingy on the other. You put the firewire thingy in the mac, and the other in the iPod. The iPod doesn't have a firewire thingy anymore, it's a different shape, the dock shape.
