and Control-V a check mark....has anyone else encountered this when copying and pasting copy from the internet? I'll copy something to "search" and sometimes, not all the time, I'll get the cyrillac(sp?) c....or, I may be copying copy from a page on my website and want to enter into a word doc to edit and I'll get the "c" or a check mark resembling a v.

This has also happened when attempting to copy in Apple Mail.

Ok :)
Did you mean √ and ç? (the only thing I can think of looking like that, but with alt-v for root and alt-c for cedilla)

Discovered that when I set up the new computer with the existing logitech keyboard, the settings reverted to the set up for "Windows" vs. "Mac" and to choose, all, copy or paste, the keyboard was set to Option vs. Alt (command) on the logitech keyboard. So, downloaded the logitech control center and chose "Mac." Now, Alt-C, Alt-V works as it should with Command vs. Option.
