Is there an app that shows me cpus temp of my new dual?

Is it possible as in other models?

If you do a search on Versiontracker.com for "ThermoInDock," there is an application that will display the reported CPU temp of your processors. I do not think it worked for any processors beyond the PCI/Yikes! G4 machines, and even then it was wildly inaccurate. The temperature sensor in the G4s was never meant to be used, and never completed or really worked to any degree of accuracy.

Have you tried Powerlogix Cache Control X? It's got temperature reporting in it. It's really meant to control processor upgrade cards, but it works OK with my non-upgraded system, at least for reporting temerature. On my B/W G3, the temperature is only reported in 4 degree increments, but it gives a ballpark idea...

I don't think the G4 processors after the ones used in the PCI G4s report temperature. That feature was disabled in the processor.

Throwing ya a curve...J C Whitney, an auto parts supplier in Chicago, has sold small, battery powered, digital thermometers (in/outdoor switch) for about $10. I bought a bunch and gave them to my kids. I used mine in my truck until replaced the truck. Installed the sensor on my CPU heatsink, and ran the wire (about 10' long) around thru the snakes nest that's behind every computer. The read-out sits on top of my monitor. Does a fine job of telling me that everything is still all right. It's a lot more accurate than the temp. utility I used at the time. It also makes me think periodically about blowing out the dust bunnies from the Mac's innards.
