Hi,

I currently have a Power Mac G4 with a PowerPC 400mhz processor. What is the fastest CPU available that is compatible with my machine?

It depends on whether you have the PCI-based G4 tower (which has a ZIF processor socket, and maxes out at 600MHz upgrade [or 1GHz, but the 1GHz option slows your bus speed to 66MHz]) or an AGP-based G4 tower (which does not have a ZIF-based processor socket).
