D-link Router Mac Os-x Connection Problems

I just bought an iBook G4, and I am attempting to connect to the internet using a D-Link DI-624 router. The router works fine on the other PCs in our house. I can connect to the internet using an ethernet cord, but only if the router is unplugged. The router will assign an IP address to the computer sometimes, but only after it's been restarted. Even when the computer has the ip address, it still won't open websites. Even when my computer is the only one connected, I still can't get online. I know it's not the isp, the modem, or the router, because they all work fine on other computers. What can I do?

Thanks,

Kellie Clancy

I assume your router is running DHCP. did you open system Preferences->Network and make sure you are running DHCP.
