I have just purchased a LaCie external DVD-RW. I should have bought the firewire version, but didn't. Therefore I have had to install a USB 2.0 PCI card into my Mac, otherwise the DVDs won't play or record properly.
Using VLC (as Apple's DVD Player won't recognise third party DVD drives), I now have a fully functioning DVD Play/Record set up.
However, when the LaCie drive is plugged in via the USB 2.0 port, my computer won't wake up from sleep (it will if the USB is disconnected).
Any work around suggestions anyone?
Thanks
P.S. I have so far done the following:
1. Checked and repaired permissions.
2. Unchecked "Put the HD to sleep when possible" in Energy Saver.
3. Used the orginal OS install disc to run disk repair.
4. Ran DiskWarrier.
5. Ran Tech Tool Pro.
