I need to transfer the entire contents of a beige Power Mac G3 and an old G3 powerbook running 9.2.2. (neither have a firewire) to a firewire hard drive. Presently, I have the hard drive connected to a G4 Powerbook running 10.4.2. I've been able to connect from the G3s to the G4 via ethernet but I haven't been able to connect in the other direction.
I've tried to ping the G3 from the G4 and I get:
No route to host, host is down.
any suggestions?
