Dead G4

My son has a fairly old G4 which suddenly wouldn't start up, it's completely dead. I imagine this is due to the power supply going, though if anyone has any other ideas please let me know.
I have a G4 of a similar age which I've used for spares; would the power supply be compatible with the other G4?
 
It depends on whether or not it's the same G4 model. What exact G4 models are we talking about here? AGP-based? "Yikes!"? Digital Audio? Quicksilver? MDD?
