Deleting system folder for 9

I'm reading about tweaking my system, archiving, eliminating files, etc. and I have found that separate of my systems folder (I am running 10.4.11) I have a [harddrive]/systems folder with a "NINE" on the folder. Is there any reason to not free up the 385mb of space on the hard drive by trashing this folder? Is there anything in this folder I need? I have absolutely no reason to be launching in NINE either at this point....it's just an appendage that is still on this system. What are the caveats and exactly how do I trash, if indeed, I can get rid of it?

That System Folder with the 9 is the main folder for OS 9, and is used on your Mac for the Classic system environment, using OS 9 in emulation (more or less).
If you are sure that you do not use any older Mac software that requires the use of Classic, then you can just trash that folder, and the Applications (Mac OS 9) folder, if you have that, too. No uninstall needed, just drag to the trash, and empty the trash.

If you have ever used OS 9, you should first check for any files that might be important in that folder. If you haven't ever used anything that old, then you shouldn't need to waste your time, just drag to the trash.

I get a notice that says:
Trash
"The operation cannot be completed because item "System Foldr" is required by the System."

So...now what?
There are two folders...one marked "System"
one marked "System Folder"
The one marked "System Folder" has a NINE icon on it.

DON'T try to trash the System folder - that's your OS X stuff there!
The one you want is the one named "System Folder"
The simplest way is to simply rename that System Folder. Then put it in the trash. If the system still complains, you can trash the major bits in that folder individually. The file called 'Finder' and the file named 'System' can be moved to other internal folders in that System Folder. Don't put them in the same folder. Trash those folders, then trash the renamed folder. Hold your Option key down, then choose Empty Trash from the Finder menu.
If your system STILL complains, restart your Mac, and try emptying the trash again. A lot of hassle for just a small amount of drive space, eh?

I think I'll just leave it alone. I actually do have ONE program that I have that uses 9...and I do have some old files that may require an old launch (some old graphics, etc). I was going do run Delocalizer to save the space of the 94 languages, but was unsure whether I'd run into problems with that. I'm running 10.4.11 and I don't want anything to screw up there either. Any suggestions? Do we know if there is a simple, fast, clean way to eliminate all those languages? Thanks.

I use "Monolingual". It works great and is free from the usual sources. Check mark everything except English (unless you want/need others)
