Dell monitor with Mac Pro

I've just bought a beautiful new Dell U2913UM monitor for use with my Mac Pro which has only DVI outs. The 2560 x 1080 resolution setting in the system prefs is very blurry and Dell don't issue drivers for Mac OS.

To cure this, do I need to install a display port graphics card and if so, which one would you recommend?

In my older Dell 2408WFP using a ATI HD 5770 card on my 2008 Dual 1.8.Mac Pro using the display port on the card. Also the Dell monitor has it own settings (on the monitor itself). So go through those settings to tweak the monitor. Lastly did you BootCamp partition show the same thing?
 
I've been through the display settings (on the monitor itself) and it appears that when I switch to 2560 x 1080 in the display System prefs...the monitor 'Display Settings' on the Dell itself shows an input of 1280 x 1080

Not sure how to cure this.
