Desktop shows light from the bottom

Hi,

I'm not sure if this make sense, but I'll do my best. (I'm a Mac newbie as of four days ago, and generally loving it)

I've somehow set up my display to have an appearance of a folding effect emanating from the bottom of the screen. This effect also shows through any open windows, which is annoying and distracting. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and how to turn it off, I'd appreciate it. I tried taking a screen grab, but the effect doesn't show up on it.

Hmm - does anyone think it is a backlight issue? The folds seem to be alternating streams of light and dark areas stretching vertically up the display from the bottom. The Macbook Pro is only five days old, so it seems disappointing...

Ok - for anyone else searching this problem, I found a photo of my problem here: http://3vil.info/2008/04/macbook-pro-display-woes/. Disappointing from a very expensive machine. Someone please reassure me that I didn't make a mistake switching from Windows and Linux!

You would have the same problem with any operating system because Nvidia reports problem with laptop chips that most new macbook Pros have. If your Mac has one (even if it doesn't) call AppleCare ASAP if you just bought it.
