/dev for sound input ?

My organization has put me in charge of ShoutCASTing a conference, we've chosen and are stuck with ShoutCAST mediacast.

I am having no problems at all streaming MP3 files on the hard disk, but I need to be able to stream real-time audio from a Griffin iMic. The sc_trans configuration says that the sound card should have an allocation in /dev but I can't find anything that looks like an audio device.

(Problem : I don't have my iMic with me, so if one magically pops up when it's connected, I wouldn't know it at this point).

I've also got Jack installed, so any suggestions with that, or any other hack are urgently welcomed :o

Did you take a look at the quicktime broadcaster? It can send a stream to a shoutcast server to relay, or I should say, you can subscribe a shoutcast server to the rtsp stream it sends out.

Reeeeeeally, no I haven't (goes and checks).

EDIT Ok so I've checked it out and it does offer a few features I need.

Only problem: It doesn't seem to stream MP3 (only AAC) and I can't figure out how to stream to my ShoutCast server, since none of the network settings I've tried communicate with the SC host (according to my admin page).

How'd you do it ?

EDIT II : Got too excited, didn't notice the rtsp subscription, I'll try that.
