different font icon

i recieved a file from a client and the icons of the fonts looked odd---the font icons looks like a gray box. When i click on it to "get info", it says "unix executable file". Is there any workaround for this problem? I tried to open it (in "get info" window)with other apps but never worked. Cant even add them to Suitcase XI. any help would be appreciated.

Those files have lost their necessary resource forks required for Mac OS X to be able to identify them. You can manually add the correct extension (depending on what kind of font/file it is) to the file, or you can simply ask the sender to kindly compress the files (.ZIP, .SIT, etc.) before sending them to you.
