displaying mail written in html in Mail

howcome 90% of the mails i get, written in html, fail to show as intented in Mail? ok, so maybe a fair 80% is spam, but some are actually mails/commercial from lists i've signed up to myself.

i will enclose a picture, but it mainly just shows up as purple square-sized icons, where i reckon there should be pictures...
this happens if there is just one pictures "written" the mail, or if the whole mail is html. attachments shows up perfectly at the bottom.

I've never noticed a problem reading HTML mail, however It's annoying that I can't forward HTML mail because Mail won't send HTML mail properly. Any chance that you can try viewing them in another email client?

well.., thunderbird shows equally corrupted messages, so it seems to be my machine somewhat. in thunderbird, though, the mail creates those standard cracked image-icons, like those you would see if any site would display pictures that had been given a wrong path..

but i don't believe this problem is bound to the mails - they often seem to be standard mails etc, so i don't think the paths to the images are broken like that.

no. no other issues that i know about.

but this has been an issue with since i started using mail a couple of months back, it just recently really started to annoy me. thats why i adressed it now..
