Dock Script?

When using the kill command in terminal to kill dock I noticed that the dock quits and reopens. Dose Apple use a script to keep the dock open and if so where is it?:)

dock is a normal part of Finder, If Finder is in use, then killing the dock process, Finder checks to see where dock is. If no dock then the Finder (in a sense, it's really the unix underneath) calls the dock back up. Anyway, when you kill the dock, under normal setup, the dock will reappear in a few monents, no script involved.

If you really want to kill the Dock (not a good idea) you can rename or move the "Dock.app" file and then kill the dock.
