Does 10.3 supported DVD+RW

I have not found any information about if Apple will supported new format of DVD using "+" for DVD+R and DVD+RW. Anyone know if 10.3 will be supported DVD+r and DVD+RW for the final verison released? I know that Toaster do supported.

DVD+RW is not a software issue, it is a hardware issue (some munufacturers have this non-compatible format, it is not 'newer' than DVD-RW, it is just a different format) Your DVD writer has to support DVD+RW. There are some DVD writers that support +RW, but Apple does not yet support that hardware. Also, Apple does not yet provide direct software support for DVD+RW format discs, but as you say, Toast does support that format

OS 10.2.6/iTunes Burn Support File for Pioneer DVR-A06/106 - Sean Rose sent a Modified Pioneer device-plugin for OS X 10.2.6/iTunes 4 burn support with the new DVR-A06/106 drive. (FYI - DVD+R/+RW burning currently requires Toast 5.x as to date (as of 10.2.6) Apple's iApps don't support DVD+R/+RW burning as far as I know. Personally for a Mac, I'd not pay $100 more for the A06/106 over the 105/A05 model just for DVD+R/+RW capability in the drive)
Note: As always, the modified file replaces the original file of the same name (long path to the device-plugin file in OS X - search to find it. Use the terminal as root to replace existing file in OS X (for Jag enable root user in Netinfo manager - see this Apple kbase doc on how. Best to not leave root user enabled however) - or reboot to OS 9 to overwrite the existing file). These files are provided "as-is", and may not work flawlessly with all systems/configurations. I'll add this to the FAQ's CDROM/CDR section for future reference.

Plextor English pages on new Plextor PX708 8x DVD Recorder drive - Last Thursday's news page had links/babelfish translated pages on the new Plextor 8X DVD Recorder drive (8x speed with DVD+R media only unfortunately for macs - DVD+R isn't well supported on the mac other than Toast5). Two readers (thanks Simon and Rutger) sent links to english pages on the drive that were not at Plextor's north america site when I posted the info last week. (Links are from plextor.be site)

Press release on PX708 drive in english
PX708 (IDE) drive specs in English
PX708UF (USB/Firewire cased) drive specs in English

To repeat the basic drive specs from last week's news page:

8x DVD+R write speed (8,100 - 10,800KB/s) (ZCLV)
4x DVD+RW write speed (5,400KB/s) (CLV)
4x DVD-R write speed (5,400KB/s) (CLV)
2x DVD-RW write speed (2,700KB/s) (CLV)
40x CDR write speed (3,000 - 6,000KB/s) (PCAV)
24x CDRW write speed (3,000 - 3,600KB/s) (PCAV)
2MB buffer

No Mac compatibility listed (and would require modified Plextor device plugin for iTunes, etc. burn support). To date (w/Jaguar or older OS's) DVD+R/+RW media is not well supported on the mac (Toast5 does but not iDVD, etc.) but I wonder if that will change with Panther perhaps.
