Drive Genius Bootable DVD problems

Hey guys,

I recently downloaded that fantastic Drive Genius program.

I've been trying to defrag my hard drive by booting to a Drive Genius (3.0.1) DVD.

For some reason whenever I hold down 'C' while starting up, my computer gets stuck on the white apple screen and sits there. My superdrive turns for about 10 seconds, goes quiet, and then I'm just stuck.

I've made a few of these DVD's using disc utility. I've verified them, and made sure I'm doing that much right. I'm pretty positive it isn't how I'm making the DVDs.

Anyone have any similar problems?

I'm running OS X 10.6.4...

How new is your Mac? If it is new this year, you may have a Mac that is too new for that bootable image.
Have you tried to contact support at Prosoft for other answers?

Another option would be to install a bootable system on an external hard drive, then install your Drive Genius on that drive. That will give you quicker boots, and likely better performance when testing your hard drive.
