Drive indexing software??

Anyone know of any drive indexing software for OSX? I have about 20 drives and have to mount and go thru them all when searching for a file. On OS9 I have software that would index each of the drives contents and save it in a searchable database but cant find anything that will do this now. Maybe it is built in to OSX and I don't know it?

Any info is appreciated.

Spotlight does this, which is included with Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" and newer. The caveat is that the drives must be connected to search them.

Haven't used that personally so I can't comment on any experiences.

CDFinder is a bit more pricier but it works very well with media--even giving you previews.

However, I have not tried it on drives specifically--my drives are "clones" or store "crap" which I know.
