drive not recognized

i have a lacie cd writer drive and it's not recognized in disk utility or various freeware programs. it is recognized in toast but i can't use toast because it can't burn bootable images. im trying to burn an image. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Toast burns bootable images just fine, at least it has for me since version 5. What is the bootable image you're trying to burn?
