DVD Drive Compatibility?

Hi,

I really want to get an LG Electronics Dual DVD+/-R x8, and DVD RAM drive, it's exactly what I'm looking for. BUT is it going to work in my G4 dual 1.42? I've checked the website and it doesnt mention anything about mac compatibility, but then again I know that Apple can be quite sneaky when it comes to steering their customers in the direction of the products they want them to buy. Will it work? I'm not so bothered about iDVD, if I can use it to get files off my audio DVD-RAM and burn files using Toast then I'd be happy. Can someone help me out?

...and select "LG" from the "Manufacturer" drop-down menu, select the appropriate drive type, and select your Macintosh model (or leave any of these blank to see all in that category). See if someone else has tried it and what their experience is/was. This is the most comprehensive list of drive compatibility that I know of.
