I recently got a IBM/Matsushita DVD-Ram drive for my PowerTower Pro 300mhzupgraded comp and well it picks up the dvd drive, but can't burn anything with I tried putting in DVD Ram cartidge and nothing and Toast doesnt pick it up and Apple DVD player dont work it says hardware not found. SO I was wondering if anyone has drivers for this DVD drive or a place where I can get them need help using OS X 10.2.6

How does this DVD-RAM drive show up in Apple System Profiler? Under Devices and Volumes, what is the Product Identification? That should show the drive is recognized as a DVD-RAM. (are you expecting to be able to burn DVDs with this drive? A DVD-RAM drive will NOT burn DVDs. The only choice is DVD-RAM, which I think in your case requires the DVD-RAM cartridge) Likely this drive cannot be used for DVD-RAM on a Mac, but check http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ for possible ways to use this drive, there's a big database of unusual hardware setups, you may get lucky!

Is there any response from the system if you attempt to erase or format a DVD-RAM disk? For this test, do not use any other software, just the system, if a disk mounts, you should be able to try erasing or formatting through the system, or use the Disk Utility to erase the DVD-RAM. This drive appears to be a SCSI drive? OSX is known to have problems with some SCSI setups, and this drive may be one that's not happy with OSX, it is 2 or 3 years old, apparently, some of the support logs on the internet seem to be that old.
