DVD's on to Lacie hard drive

I have a 13" macbook running OSX. I recently bought a 1 TB Lacie Lacinema Premier to load all my dvd's on to for when I go on trips. My issue is, that I can't figure out how to put the DVD's on the the hard drive. My computer sees the HD fine.

Is there any reason you can't just drag the DVD (that you have loaded on your Mac) to your Lacie icon? Both should be on your desktop.

Before doing anything with that LaCie, I would highly recommend reformatting it to the HFS+ format... it most likely came formatted as FAT32, and, unless you need to use the drive with Windows machines as well, your life will be much easier with the drive reformatted from FAT32 to HFS+.
