Hi All,

Really hope someone can help. Have never experienced anything quite this nerve wrecking. I am using Entourage 2004 student version. There was a big update that I downloaded which made the computer lock. After I rebooted my Entourage was set up as I have never used before. No mails, no rules, no accounts & no signature. Checking under microsoft user data i can see it has created a new database just now when I rebooted it - no sign of the old one.

I have looked around and can't find anything that helps.
- It is not about swithing identies.
- I can't find the old database and fear that it might have been overwritten rather than deleted...

Any ideas highly appreciated a.s.a.p.... I will try to take a look with a data recovery tool.

It seemed that after the crash the computer went back to english as language which made it look for the database in the wrong place. Sorry for the desperate message.

Office data is kept in the users\(your user name)\documents. I have seen this thing several times, have you checked the trash? the installer might have dumped it in there.

The Microsoft Mac BU ( a Microsoft group that does nothing but Apple software) put in a neat database fixer. Just hold down the 'option' key while launching Entourage. Then from the pop up you can always "Rebuild database" to fix weird Entourage problems.
