Eudora 6.2.4 with Leopard 10.5.8 - Attachment errors

I have just upgraded to Leopard 10.5.8. And i get error with sending and getting mail with attachments:

Error while checking mail for 'my account':
Couldn't create attachement to decode into 'docname' (-5000); An unknown error has occured {17535}

Write down you email settings. Then quit Mail, navigate to the folder /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ and find the file com.apple.mail.plist and drag it to the desktop (you will not loose Saved email folders). Then relaunch Mail and put back in your settings and see if that works.

i dont use mail but only Eudora 6.2.4 !
- i do this with eudora.plist and qualcomm.plist

Eudora 6.2.4 was released in 2006. That is a lifetime in computer years. Qualcomm, its developer, has abandoned the product. The Eudora name lives on as a version of Thunderbird with Eudora widgets.

My suggestion to you is to move on. When I bought my first Power Mac G5 back in 2003, I switched from Eudora to Mail and have not looked back. The old Eudora was good in its day, but that day is long gone. Mail imported all of my Eudora messages without a hitch.

I am not asking you to switch to Mail specifically. I am asking to you leave Eudora. Even when it was still supported, it did not support many of the features of its contemporaneous competitors. So many email messages today rely on features that Eudora 6.2.4 does not know how to handle that support is nightmare. Is there a malfunction or is the app simply acting as expected with a modern email feature?
 
I wonder, what were you using before upgrading to 10.5.8?

Eudora was every bit the premier mail client. I had been using it since 1995 and was very sad to have to let it go. I tried to keep it, (really miss some of its features still) and searched for clues of how to make it play nice with Leopard, but without success. Some claimed that the problems it was having with Leopard were related to alert sounds, and they were able to use it, but I could never get it work.

The Thunderbird project was terrible when I switched and being a cheapskate, I just went with Mail.app. It just works, so I don't stress about it, but that's all it does is just work. I don't feel I live at the Post Office anymore. Thanks for many years Eudora!
 
Right for both... Eudora is a old mail client but i use it since long time and all my mail are on Eudora... I have also a lot of filter and so...
I'm looking for a mail application like Eudora...
i try Mailforge but it's really poor vs Eudora... OSX Mail is also a pity !

It sounds like you are familiar with Eudora and can't figure out anything else. The fact that all of your messages are in Eudora is simply not an issue. As I said in my previous post, Mail will import all of your Eudora messages without a hitch. Mailforge is "really poor"; Mail is "a pity." What are you looking for that only Eudora provides?
 
ok... problem solved.. it was a 'permission error" with the attachment folder !

Mail doesn't import filter ! (i have 300 filters for 287 folders !) i get 250 mail by days.
I like the not unified Eudora style. I can open at the same time many folder an mail...

Only MailForge has the same possibility but MailForge is like an Eudora 3.0 for the setting !
