I'm in the process of backing up my external Maxtor drive and I've discovered that the VOB files have become garbled and/or swapped from one folder to another. Not sure if the drive is faulty or there was some confusion in the decrypting of the DVD. Yes these are my dvds. I'm now cleaning off the drive completely hoping that a reformat will help. Also noticed that for some of the VIDEO TS files, if I turn the drive off and back on that sometimes works (albeit temporarily).

Are you using an Intel-based Macintosh computer? I've heard reports of some of the newer Intel-based Macs having some corruption troubles with FireWire drives.
