External Harddrive unplugged during file transfer using MacDrive

I installed MacDrive on a windows machine, and hooked up my mac formatted harddrive to transfer over some files. During the transfer, the power cable to the harddrive got disconnected. When I tried plugging it back into the Mac, it would only show up in disk utility, but i could not repair or eject it. after several minutes a dialog box came up saying
“Disk Repair - The disk "My Book" was not repairable by this computer. It is being made available to you with limited functionality. You must back up your data and reformat the disk as soon as possible.”

i then quickly tried to repair the drive using disk utility but after a few seconds it was unmounted and failed to repair.

im not sure if anything really happened to the drive...is it something the folks at macdrive can help me out with? what are your suggestions?

thanks in advance

EDIT: the drive isnt making any clicking sounds, and i can't do much when it shows up in disk utility. is there a terminal command that i can try unmounting and remounting?
