I installed Monolingual yesterday leaving only English unchecked and now the log in screen on osx does not accept type at all ?!?! WHAT TO DO ?

Was your system running only in English, cheeseroll?
Insert the OS X install CD 1, and run Disk Utility (hold down C-key while booting so it'll boot to CD), "repair hard drive" and "repair permissions", then reboot .. and tell if that made any change.

i was going to try this but i only have 2.5 gigs free..

To run the Disk Utility from installer doesn't mean to archive and install .. choose from the menu the Disk Utility, and just "Repair disk" and "Repair Permissions" a few times .. that could help it.
And get an external hard drive so you can keep enough space to run programs that need a lot of swipe space ..

you may well have something here, i'll get back to you...

The English language should _never_ be removed. Also: If at install-time a different language was chosen, that should _also_ never be removed. Although I wish the system would just revert to an _available_ language.

I say: Get an external harddrive (if you can't buy one, maybe someone can help you out with one for a few days?), install OS X on that and then backup the internal drive to that. Then clean-install on the internal drive, choosing only the languages you'll need. You'll notice that you _can't_ remove English.

Thanks that is the conclusion i am coming to as well.

by the way the internal error that comes up is:-

TSMprocessRawKeyCode failed (-192)

my music files since they are already backed on my ipod. OSX is therefore re-installed via archive and install and everything is rosy again.

I will try again Monoligual but only after i have backed up my photo's etc.....
