File Count?

Just realized that what used to be at the bottom of any open folder--file/item count--is missing.
Apparently it has been for some time. Didn't realize it until today while burning over 1500 mp3's and wanted to split them up evenly. Grrrr--had to count!

When did Apple, in their infinite wisdom, eliminate this?

It must have been in the El Capitan release. Maverick still has it.

Don't know when, but Yosemite did not have it either.

Any idea HOW you got it? Did it ever disappear?

That's the window status bar.
Turn it on in the View menu "Show Status Bar", or just toggle it with Command-/ (that's a command - forward slash )
You need an active Finder window on the desktop to let you change that setting.

Wow---got it back! Guess I never knew what "Show Status Bar" was.
