I am looking to setup a file server for my small business and would like to know about compatibility.
I do a lot of visual FX work, video and other high-end design and need something reliable and something that I can use between Mac OS X powerpc, intel mac pro and windows xp pro x64 running on intel mac.
From people I've spoken to I know they suggested setting up a linux server but I'm not sure about config.
I would like to initially set up something that would provide me with at least 4-6TB RAID file server + backup (7200 RPM drives only) and not break the bank. I'm not sure if there are any turnkey solutions for this since I use multiple operating systems and form what colleagues have told me there are limits to what each OS supports.
Any info will be appreciated.
