Files not showing in GUI

I have used rsync to copy a massive amount of files from one network attached storage to my computer. The problem is that the files aren't showing in the GUI however the files are there and I can see them in the terminal.

Is there a way to get Finder to refresh the view of the folder?

A 'massive amount of files' should normally register properly, but could be that finder calls for spotlight to add those files to spotlight database. A lot of files may take some time before finder fully updates. Maybe a logout, or restart would speed up the process. Do the files show properly after a restart?
