Finder beachhballing when connecting to SMB

My finder will beachball when browsing SMB shares. In the console it says:
05/10/2010 14:46:13 kernel smb_iod_sendall: Timed out waiting on the response for 0xa0 mid = 0x5981
05/10/2010 14:47:32 kernel smb_iod_sendall: Timed out waiting on the response for 0xa0 mid = 0x6e18
05/10/2010 14:48:20 kernel smb_iod_sendall: Timed out waiting on the response for 0xa0 mid = 0x8763
05/10/2010 14:50:38 kernel smb_iod_sendall: Timed out waiting on the response for 0xa0 mid = 0xe4b1
etc

Constantly while the beachball is happening. Would anyone have any ideas what's going on? I'm on 10.6.4. This doesn't happen on 10.5 machines.
 
Depends. Are you connecting to a Linux share via SMB or to a version of Windows? If Windows what version of Windows?
