Finder seems to go blank every time I double click any item (folder,application....

the finder seems to crash (goes blank) every time I try to access any item including: hard disks, external Volumes, folders and Documents, this issue render the whole computer useless.
I have a Power Ti-book 400Mhz/768ram/30gigHD/ and runing OSX10.2.3
and also happened while on OSX 10.2.2.

Can somebody help me please?.

No...I'd created a new User from scratch just to test the results and now it allows me to navigate through any volume or window but when I try to open any application it just give me the message "the application ..........has unexpectedly quit. the system and other apps have not been affected.
 
I've also been getting that crash alot with the Finder, but it only seems to be when I'm dealing with windows with video files in them. Unfortunately, that's most of the time.
