Firefox does not load after sign in to google, have had to use Safari to connect. Sign in pops up, and is completed, then loading page just keeps flashing on and off.

I don't know.....Firefox is happy with my iMac G5, even since its early days at 1.x.
Maybe it just doesn't like the Intel Macs.
Which version of Mac OS X and which version of Firefox?
If Firefox continues to misbehave, use its much-friendlier-to-the-Mac cousin Camino.
Also, try clearing your private data from the menu and see if it resolves the problems.

For me Firefox 3 crashes immediately upon launch, as does it's Smart Crash Reporter. Deleted all its files and reinstalled thrice to no avail.
No skin off my nose 'cause I prefer Safari anyway.
