I bought a Syba Firewire PCI ExpressCard (34mm) for my MacBook Pro. It's the 15 inch 2 ghz intel core 2 duo model from 2006. It says it's plug and play, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.6
It appeared in the Network Preferences as a new Firewire Network Interface, but my hard drive won't mount.
There are no drivers for it for OS X that I can find anywhere. But I shouldn't need one since it's plug and play, and OS X did recognize that it was a firewire interface at least.
There's a port for power (optional) on the card but the hard drive I'm trying to connect already has it's own power. So it shouldn't need that.
It shows up as a new Firewire Bus under Hardware category in the System Profiler as well, so I know it's being detected to some extent.
Just need to get the hard drive mounted!
Thanks!
