Fix bricked iPhones

the opening of the platform by providing an SDK won't change anything about provider SIM-locks though, probably. apple will still have to make the SIM-unlocking complicated enough that providers trust them. a little.
i've seen the first iPhone here in Switzerland today. Someone just took it out of the pocket and put it on the table in a café. For a moment, I wanted to say "What's THAT!" pointing at the ceiling, grabbing the iPhone and running for the door. Then I though, envious, that I just wouldn't give it _any_ attention. ;)

Nah, the SDk is rumored to be opening up app development through iTunes only, though I have no proof of this. Doesn't seem like the SDK will be as open as it is on mac computers.

Maybe we have to wait 5 years for the AT&T contract to expire before we see a truly unlocked and supported phone?
