Flashing Globe and Finder Symbol on Startup

This has been happening for about 3-4 weeks now. Whenever I start up or restart, there is a gray square with a globe on it that flashes for several seconds. After that goes away, the finder face symbol starts alternating with a question mark. Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix it? It really makes restarting take quite a while.

I have a 15 inch PowerBook G4, 1.5ghz, 1gb RAM, running OS 10.4.6.
Any help would be greatly apprectiated.
 
Your boot disk is not selected (and the network boot probably is selected)Open your System Preferences/Startup Disk pane.
Click on your startup disk, so it's highlighted

That should fix your issue.
