Freezing mac mini

My G4 Powerbook has never frozen in seven years (a couple of Kernal Panics only). The cursor on my new(ish) mac mini freezes almost daily. I can only fix it by rebooting.

I have:
  • fixed permissions
  • used utility repair from the install boot up disc
  • run diskwarrior
  • run techtool pro

Any ideas anyone?

The cause when I have experienced this phenomenon is a corrupted/outdated driver execution. Have you any wireless adaptors or legacy hardware plugged in or installed?

I have a Logitech wireless mouse. I've just downloaded a driver update, so I'll see how that goes.

Many thanks!!!

It might be as simple as updating the mouse's driver, then. Hopefully your freezes aren't something more serious. If you suspect they are, you could start up your Mini holding down the D key with the install disc inserted. This will bring up diagnostic testing.

EDIT: Looks like you already figured that out! :)
