Frozen while logging in, only the spotlight is showing

I'm having an issue with a particular user when he logs in. It allows him to enter in his username and password, but after about a minute or so the screen freezes and only the little spotlight is showing in the upper right of the screen. I've let it sit for a while, thinking it may take just a few minutes to log in, but nothing changed. I'm able to login as Administrator just fine, just not this particular user. His user folder is 57GB (56GB of this is in his Music folder). Anyone have any suggestions on what to try? I've taken it into a Certified Mac Support place, but they ran it through some tests and said everything was fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Ok, so after about 30 minutes or so of letting it just sit there it finally logged in. Any one know why this would happen?
 
Yes. He did something in HIS HOME folder on his Mac. Check if he has something in his StartUp Login options (System Preferences->Accounts) like automatic mounting of an external server that might have a corrupted shortcut.
